Beacons in Singapore Basketball and Netball: Pathman, Ling tirelessly give to sports
“We are super grateful for all the help given to us by Flint & Battery,” says Pathman Matialakan of the Singapore Slingers Basketball Team and husband of Li Ling. “I was surprised by Flint & Battery’s proposal to back and commit assistance to the sportspeople of Singapore. It is heartwarming to know that Flint & Battery’s soul lies beyond its calling as a profession but seeks outreach towards causes that it firmly believes in.”
On 15 December 2014, Flint & Battery announced that it will support the local sports industry.
“I am really pleased that Flint & Battery has decided to express its support for the sports community,” says Li Ling of the Singapore Netball Team. “Flint & Battery through Director Winston Wong has supported Netball for years and it is heartwarming to see that that further extended into the larger sports community.” Ling heads up the Goal Shoot position for the National Team.
“Ling and Path are both individually strong, driven and deeply caring persons. Their collective contribution to Basketball and Netball is tremendous. I am simply happy I was able to help them both,” says Winston Wong, Director, Flint & Battery LLC.
Ling continues to contribute to the sporting industry in her work in SportSG and the upcoming South East Asia Games 2015 to be held in Singapore in coming June. Pathman moulds and shapes the future buds of Singapore’s youth through his coaching work. “It is admirable to see this great couple successfully manage their work and family. Naomi, their love, pride and joy, turned 2 earlier this year.”
Flint & Battery announced that sports businesses and NSAs (National Sports Associations) will receive a reduction on professional fees. In addition, national athletes and ex-national athletes will also be supported by a similar reduction on legal fees. Flint & Battery wants to offer the local sports community the necessary professional legal support. The ultimate goals are twofold: for local athletes who has ever donned our national colours to receive much needed legal advice at reduced costs and for sports businesses to be empowered, not disadvantaged, in their daily business dealing with larger businesses or funding partners, and suppliers.
